Happy Spring! I am loving this weather and all the fun events that come with spring. For one of these events we are using lots of mini cakes and I am obsessiing over them….so I scoured Pinterest and thought I bring you a few of my favorites. Happy Monday! it is a beautiful day here in DC! The kind of day that lets you know that Spring truly is not that far away! Spring for me is all about the flowers and tight now this is my favorite: Ranunculus! Love the colors, stylish enough for a wedding, sweet enough for mothers day and chic enough for a simple vase. Baby, it’s cold outside…..ok well, not really! But I love that song and it sure was cold and windy when we had my daughter’s ice skating party a few weeks ago. My daughter had clear ideas about what she wanted (outdoor ice skating) and I think children’s parties don’t have to be over the top to be “madly stylish”. So with those two things in mind we planned a fun outdoor ice skating party that took place at the Rockville Town Square Ice Skating Rink. The snacks and refreshments were supposed to be out side as well but at the last minute Oro Pomodoro, a wonderful Italian restaurant here in Rockville,MD, took us in from the cold and wind.
I went with a neutral color palette and kept things simple. My girls helped make the hot chocolate on a stick and the marshmallows. I was surprised how easy they were to make!!! We also had milk for those who did not want the hot chocolate but that was not the case! Our treats included a croissant bar: butter, chocolate, and almond croissants; snowflake cookies, donut holes, and a super stylish and delicious birthday cake by Tiffany and Cake. The kids lunched on pizza made by Oro Pomodoro. For favors they got a pair gloves and a mini container of donut holes. Take a look!

There is nothing like when the bride puts on her veil, it completes her look and it is very much the finishing touch. But for the bride looking for something different or a statement piece, the veil just might not do it. I think we’ve got some madly stylish alternatives to the traditional veil! I think you can even wear these after the wedding!

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of styling an engagement brunch for this lovely couple.
The sister of the groom to be contact me to assist with the brunch and I was thrilled to help her. She is so sweet and my daughter’s pre-school teacher, so of course a madly stylish brunch would be in order. She, her mom and friends made all the food! Our menu included a bagel bar with various cream cheeses, lox, onions, and tomatoes; mini pancakes, yogurt & granola parfait, sausage egg frittata, maple bacon, french toast casserole, and banana, zucchini, and lemon poppy bread. For our dessert table, we had a trifle bar with strawberry, chocolate cake, and tiramisu trifles. We rounded it up with a donut cake and brownies. The donut cake was topped with roses by Edible Details! It was lovely and then took a topple and so we had to readjust but I think it still came out great!
Pictures of the couple from their childhood to the present were displayed on a . I used the couples engagement date as a recurring theme and those numbers were posted above their pictures. I created a backdrop of flowers which hung over the “well wishes” table. We had leaves on which guest could write a wish for the couple that we hung on the wishing tree. I’ll let you take a look!

Meet Lindsay and her fiance…how cute are they?! Lindsay just won our Sareh Nouri Bridal wedding gown sash. I think she’s going to look great wearing it on her wedding day. We can’t wait to see her in it on June 24th!

We celebrated Valentine’s Day with a sweet and simple play date shoot. I partnered with Jenn Aurroux, from For My Girls, to host a play date where the girls could bring their American Girl dolls. Between the two of us we have six girls, who each have American Girl Dolls. This could we be a great birthday party as well!
The girls got to paint a t-shirt for their dolls and make matching headbands. We snacked on mini cherry pies on a stick, devil’s food chocolate cupcakes, and pink lemonade made by yours truly! Frosting & Ink provided the party printable which we’re all in French as the girls attend a French immersion school. The doll clothes, accessories, headbands, and t-shirts came from For My Girls.
