At Madly Stylish Events, we believe that your style can shine through every last detail of your wedding – even down to your desserts! We love the beautiful traditional wedding cake, but we also love to focus on all the new possibilities that can make your wedding even more uniquely you, especially during the lovely autumn season. Whether you want to help keep your guests warm with apple cider, or provide them with some more diverse dessert options, enjoy these ideas for alternative autumn desserts!

Madly Modern Monday

In line with our mission to create new ways to bring your culture, style and personality to your wedding, this post features madly modern, madly stylish non-white wedding gowns . Don’t worry, you don’t have to include all colors of the rainbow in your dress unless you want to! But here are a few ideas to get you started on your search for the perfect gown that will embody who you are!

Do Away with Tradition for Fall!

The transition from summer to autumn brings beautiful, mild weather and deep, rich colors that create the perfect setting for an outdoor wedding! The various hues of reds, oranges, browns and burgundies provide a gorgeous color scheme for the event. Fall is a time to break away from tradition and include the season in your ceremony and reception. Fun desserts such as mini pies might replace the classic white cake, and you might trade in your strapless gown for an elegant long-sleeved one. Bouquets with darker flowers and invitations with simple and chic designs are also options to consider for an autumn wedding. Enjoy this collage for inspiration and happy planning!

Floral Friday

Bouquets are usually the most common place to find flowers at a wedding, but we want to explore other ways to use a floral theme on your wedding day. In addition to venue decoration, you can incorporate them into your own look! There are beautiful flowers that grow in gorgeous autumn colors such as burgundy, orange, brown and red. Some of our favorite fall floral arrangements include aster, ranunculus, gerbera and gladioli.

From fascinators to corsages, the possibilities for flowers are endless! Check it out!

We’re Back!

Friends, it’s been way too long since my last post. So much has happened in that time and while I won’t bore you with all the details, here’s a quick recap!

First, we made the big move from DC to Indianapolis! Yes, Indiana….I know, never in a million years could I have imagined living in the state of Indiana. Yet, here we are, due to a new job for my husband. A shameless plug here, but he was blessed with the opportunity to become the President of the University of Indianapolis. Much as I was worried about life in the Midwest, we are all thrilled to be here. The girls have settled into a fantastic school, we have really nice friends, my husband loves his job, and Madly Stylish Events is doing incredibly well and becoming part of a fantastic community of Indy wedding and event professionals. So while I do miss my family and friends on the East Coast, life is good.

Second, after taking several months off, we relaunched in Indy this spring and have been busy since. We have lots of events to share on the blog so be ready to catch what we have been up too. Soon, I’ll share some more exciting news but just can’t let the cat out of the bag just yet. Lastly, we have some interns on staff now. Woo-hoo! As you can see, despite the lack of blog posts, we’ve been busy! So I hope you join us again, as we head on this new journey in Indianapolis!  To our new followers, welcome to the Madly Stylish community.

I am thrilled to introduce our Madly Stylish intern: Ariana Gainer.

How cute is she!

I am a native of Indianapolis, Indiana and I’m currently a senior communication major at the University of Indianapolis. My concentrations are in journalism and public relations, and Spanish is my minor. I love writing, reading (Jane Austen, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Breakfast at Tiffany’s…anything classically romantic!), traveling and cultures. I’m a girly-girl! I have spent time in Mexico, Barbados, Chile and Argentina, and I’m fluent in Spanish. I love fashion and decorating, and I’m thrilled to be a part of Madly Stylish Events and contribute my own style and innovative ideas to the company!
